The Flag's Roads - Reggio Emilia - April 12, 2011

Reggio Emilia is where the Italian Flag, the "Tricolour", was conceived back in 1797. It's therefore natural that the City has played a central role during the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of Italian unification. As a gift to our President who came to visit the City in January, most central streets have been adorned with big flags that have something to do with the Tricolour, starting from the French Revolution, all the way to unification. And if you look at the complex history of the flag and of the unification itself, you can understand how they managed to fill about 6 Km of roads with flags!
